REALTOR® Political Action Committee (RPAC) is a voluntary political action committee whose membership consists of REALTORS® interested in actively and effectively protecting the real estate industry and the dream of homeownership by participating in government affairs at the local, state and federal levels. RPAC is the muscle of REALTORS® in Washington, D.C. RPAC represents over 1,100,000 politically active REALTORS® that Members of Congress want as their friends. Why is NAR issuing this guidance? In response to the growing concerns about COVID-19, commonly referred to as coronavirus, NAR is providing this guidance to help REALTORS® respond to the coronavirus’s potential impact on the real estate industry. As of March 4, 2020, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued Level 3 Travel Warnings for all of China, South Korea, Italy, and Iran, and a Level 2 Travel Warning for Japan. However, the situation is rapidly evolving. The Iowa Association of REALTORS® (IAR) partnered with the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) to provide relief for flood stricken areas of Iowa. NAR’s REALTOR Relief Foundation has awarded IAR a grant of $250,000. IAR is contributing an additional $25,000 to bring the total to $275,000. This grant can help individuals affected by the Iowa flood with mortgage payment assistance or rental cost due to displacement for up to $1,000.
